The consumption of alcoholic drinks in public places might end with one night under arrest besides the fine of 20 lei. The subject was discussed at Monday's meeting of the Chisinau City Hall after an inebriated man drowned in a lake in Valea Trandafirilor Park one day earlier, Info-Prim Neo reports.

Several friends consumed alcohol on the bank of the lake. At a certain moment, one of them entered the water and did not come out. His friends searched for him, but all in vain. The rescuers found his body shortly afterward.

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca asked the municipal police to take drastic measures to combat the consumption of alcoholic drinks in public places and to arrest the persons under the influence of alcohol in order to prevent tragedies.
